  Our favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Saskatoon, the Saskatoon Asian is the kind of place that just gets better and better with each subsequent visit. Carey, Sean and Kevin have a way of making you feel at home (think "Cheers") and the food is outstanding.
  
  On the appetizer end of things, their crispy Vietnamese rolls are outstanding - hot, crunchy and flavourful every time (served with a sweet Nuoc Mam that you are free to heat up with the homemade chili sauce at every table).
  
  For the health conscious, their fresh rolls are also delightful - the shrimp and pork rolls are particularly yummy, as is their hoisin based dipping sauce (*Note: the Asian uses no peanuts in any of their food as they are quite conscious of the allergy issue).
  
  Finally, and forget "health conscious" on this one, their garlic chicken wing appetizer is to die for. The deep fried wings (lovingly coated in a light batter) arrive with heaping chunks of fresh garlic adhering to every wing. Squeeze the accompanying fresh lime over all, share with everyone (trust us) and enjoy!
  
  It's hard to know where to begin when discussing the mains. Like so many Vietnamese restaurants the menu is extensive, and you can either order individual dishes (all their rice vermicelli is delicious) or you can order plates to share. Of particular note is their Shrimp and Beef Cabbage Salad (it's hard to describe how they make cabbage taste so good until you try this dish) and their Seafood Hot Pot (at $23.00 it's a steal as it easily feeds 3-4 people; whenever we're there together we inevitably have take-away for eating at home later).
  
  They also make an outstanding Vietnamese coffee (the hot is better than the iced, although the iced is very good).
  
  We've never been disappointed, and are hard pressed to go anywhere else for Vietnamese in Saskatoon.

  This place is a solid 3.5 stars in my books. The restaurant is located right downtown, but the mall that it's situated in is super seedy - fake ivy hanging from the ceilings, harsh fluorescent lighting, a massage parlor, a few 'for lease' empty stores, and gaudy chandeliers - you get the picture. The restaurant itself is only a small step above this - a mishmash of asian decor, with rice paddy hats and cheap bamboo fans littered around, dirty red carpet underfoot. A true relic of the 80s.
  
  The place was pretty empty and we were given a seat next to the window overlooking the main street. Service was excellent and pleasant, and the food arrived quickly. Prices were very reasonable, and the food was actually quite excellent. This place is certainly a true fusion restaurant; don't expect authentic Chinese dishes, but do expect excellent Canadian-asian food: Your classics like sweet and sour pork / ginger fried beef are cooked to perfection here.
  
  I could see so much potential for this spacious restaurant - with that kind of food, a quick makeover and possibly adding a dimsum feature on weekends could see this place raking in the big bucks.

  This place hits the spot.
  
  After researching several Saskatoon restaurants to satisfy a craving for Chinese food one night, Saskatoon Asian was basically the ONLY place we could find that 1. Hadn't had a health inspection violation, 2. Was open on a Tuesday and 3. Had Won-Ton soup on the menu (I don't feel like that's too much to ask!).
  We were not disappointed. The owner seated and served us, she was engaging and genuine. The food came out super quick and every item we ordered was fantastic!
  We got Viet Rolls, Won-Ton Soup, Ginger Chicken and Singapore Noodles. This place is by far the best Chinese/Asian food I have had in Saskatoon in the 4 years I have lived here. I'm only sad I didn't discover it sooner as we're moving away at the end of the month.

  Ordered delivery, hot and sour soup 3/5, fried rice, 3/5, beef black bean on noodle 4/5 average food,arrived hot though with lots of soup bowls and plates and plastic cutlery
  
  Made for 3 meals for 1 person

  Dirty and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years.  Smells like mold.  Food is average, with the exception of the Pad Thai, which is excellent.
